Green Cool Schools GROW Europe builds on the following previous projects:
- Erasmus+ Project “L4GS” (Learning4Greens@Schools, Learning and Teaching Materials for Greening Schools) (February 2022–January 2023): Development of a multilingual website, materials, and guides.
- Erasmus+ Project “GreenCoolSchools Network” (February 2024–January 2025): Networking among teachers, compiling best practices, presenting awards, and developing criteria.

Green Cool Schools GROW Europe aims to promote sustainability and green innovation in education by providing schools with practical resources and collaborative networks.
Green Cool Schools GROW Europe provides hands-on teaching materials, background information, and practical guides on topics related to greening schools.
To that end, we offer materials in the respective national languages on our website, as well as detailed country-specific information.
The materials are freely available on the website https://greencoolschools.eu/—which originated from previous Erasmus+ projects—and will be available in six different languages. In addition, the project aims to expand the existing international “Green Cool Schools” network, where teachers from different countries can connect, exchange ideas, and share their experiences with one another.
Objectives:
- Through the Green Cool Schools platform, we aim to promote the exchange of knowledge among teachers, share best practices, and encourage wider adoption through training sessions, events, and multimedia resources.
- Our activities include creating and refining teaching materials and building instructions, supporting schools in constructing green features, and documenting these processes through videos. In addition, we will raise awareness of the Green Cool Schools initiative through awards, events, and digital outreach efforts, and we will promote international collaboration through webinars and on-site exchanges.
Expected Results:
We expect the implementation of 15 green elements, validated and multilingual teaching materials, and an expanded website showcasing 150 best practices. In addition, the Green Cool Schools network will actively connect teachers across Europe to ensure the transfer of knowledge and to widely establish sustainable practices in schools.
