A space for social change

The energy transition – the shift in our energy supply towards renewable energy and away from fossil fuels – is a far-reaching process of social, technological and cultural transformation.
We invite you to explore the energy transition on a level that goes beyond figures, models, scenarios and political debates, and which brings to light the complex interrelationships within the system as a whole. As part of a research project, we are offering half-day methodology sessions and weekend seminars to explore how systemic constellations and embodiment work can influence the transformation processes involved in the energy transition.
Methodology
Systemic constellation and embodiment work is a methodological approach to process and organisational work that enables complex systems to be experienced first-hand. It makes it possible to reveal hidden dynamics, clarify relationships and explore connections between actors, structures and contextual conditions within a dynamic, reflective space. In doing so, it complements analytical approaches with an experience-based perspective – concrete, comprehensible and immediate. Systemic constellation work makes the following tangible:
- what forces, roles and areas of tension are at play in the context of the energy transition
- how politics, the economy, civil society, the environment and technological systems are interrelated
- where obstacles, conflicts or untapped potential lie
- what trends, developments and potential solutions are emerging within the system
This fosters a deeper understanding of the current processes of transformation involved in the energy and climate transition – moving beyond technical jargon and theory, whilst clearly relating to real-world social, political and technological challenges. Systemic constellations and embodiment work provide a way into these complex interactions by making the entire system tangible through spatial, relational and embodied experience. Rather than simply talking about the energy transition, its key elements, actors and forces are placed in relation to one another and experienced directly. This brings to light implicit assumptions, hidden dynamics and contradictory logics that are often overlooked in traditional discourse and planning formats.

For people who are familiar with systemic work and/or who support transformation processes in the energy and mobility transitions, as well as climate change adaptation:

How do the participants benefit from this?
Participants gain a deeper, experience-based understanding of the complex dynamics of the energy and climate transition. Through systemic constellations and embodiment work, they are able not only to understand transformational processes, but also to experience and reflect on them first-hand.
Specifically, participants benefit from:
- a broader understanding of the interrelationships between the political, economic, social and technological dimensions of the energy transition
- new perspectives on one’s own questions, roles and scope for action in the context of transformation processes
- the ability to recognise areas of tension, obstacles and conflicting objectives at an early stage and to deal with them constructively
- Ideas for shaping change processes within organisations, projects and societal contexts
- a deepening of one’s own systemic practice through its application to a highly topical, real-world field of social transformation
- a shared space for learning and feedback with other professionals, which facilitates discussion, reflection and collective learning
These formats thus support both the personal and professional development of the participants and strengthen their confidence in guiding complex social change processes.

Registration Fee
Half-Day Methods Course: €48.00
Weekend seminar: 180.00 €. Participants are responsible for paying for their own accommodations at the seminar hotel during weekend seminars.
It is important to us that financial reasons do not prevent anyone from participating.
That is why we offer a limited number of solidarity spots, which can further reduce or completely waive the participation fee. If you are interested in a solidarity spot, please let us know briefly in your registration. The allocation process is confidential.
These activities are part of the “EWV4EnergyTransition. Renewable Energy Sources in Densely Developed Urban Areas—Challenges and Potential, as Illustrated by the Buildings of the Evangelical Orphan Care Association of Vienna (EWV) ” will take place. This project is funded by the Climate and Energy Fund and is being carried out as part of the “Beacons for Resilient Cities 2040” program (FFG Project No. 923352). We receive project funding for these sessions, which allows us to significantly reduce the participation fee. The funding covers 60% of the actual seminar costs. The regular price for the half-day methods workshop is €120.00; thanks to the funding, participants pay only 40% = €48.00. The regular price for the weekend seminar is €450.00; thanks to the funding, participants pay only 40% = €180.00.
