Climeet@Vienna Mobility Conference

Multimodal travel—safe, smart, sustainable

The 2026 Mobility Conference, organized by the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Mobility, and Infrastructure (BMIMI), took place in Vienna on April 20 and 21, 2026.

In addition, the side events held before and after the main program provided an opportunity to delve deeper into specific topics, gain new perspectives, and make valuable connections.

The Climeet association participated in the side event on the topic of:

Smart Traffic Avoidance: Future Strategies for the Mobility Transition.”

During the interactive workshop, some 80 experts from the fields of research, government, business, and civil society discussed how smart traffic avoidance can contribute to improving quality of life, efficiency, and sustainability. The workshop was based on the Connect4SmartMoves project (Climeet & VCÖ), an Austria-wide innovation network that connects stakeholders and develops practical solutions for implementing the Mobility Master Plan 2030 in line with the principle of “avoidance without sacrifice.” The results of the two VCÖ expert surveys were presented and discussed.

Our workshop was deliberately designed as a co-creation format.
Using Slido, small group discussions, and “Walk the Talk” posters, we engaged in intensive discussions, set priorities, and gathered valuable feedback for our future work. The energy, openness, and expertise in the room were impressive.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed, offered their ideas, joined the discussion, and shared their experiences!
