On March 4, 2025, the BIM Globe 2025 took place in Vienna. Organized by buildingSMART Austria, the event focused on digitalization in the real estate industry. The Association for the Promotion of Green Building Culture (V-GBK) was represented by Joachim Kräftner (Kräftner Landscape Architecture) and Bente Knoll (B-NK), who presented the latest findings from the Green BIM and Green BIM 2 research projects and provided insight into the ongoing work for the green sector.
In addition to presentations on topics such as photovoltaics, case studies, and energy monitoring, the presentation on Green BIM 2 shed light on the green sector and the need to integrate it into BIM projects. The P-Sets developed for this purpose, the exchange of information requirements (AIA), the verification of results in practice, the further development of the Green BIM Viewer, and many other aspects offer great potential for enabling the industry to take the necessary steps toward digital transformation in the future. Participation in the event highlighted the achievements of the construction industry and paved the way for improved future collaboration.
