Information Sessions for a Climate-Resilient Neighborhood in Wieden

As part of the project EWV4Energiewende , the block in Vienna’s 4th municipal district comprising Wohllebengasse, Argentinierstraße, Plößlgasse, and Prinz-Eugen-Straße (WAPP for short) is to be developed into a prototype for climate-neutral neighborhood energy supply in historic buildings from the Gründerzeit era. The goal is to create a cross-property, renewable, and long-term sustainable solution for heating existing buildings.

The process is designed to be transparent and participatory from the outset. By involving property owners, residents, and other stakeholders at an early stage, the goal is to develop an implementation-oriented phased plan that builds acceptance and serves as a scalable best-practice model for other urban neighborhoods in Vienna.

The project focuses on clear communication, innovative participation formats, neighborhood networking, and expert guidance through to potential implementation. The goal is to break down barriers to switching to renewable energy, engage committed participants, and develop energy and infrastructure concepts that span multiple properties.
