Joint development of visions and future scenarios with the decision-makers of tomorrow.

Automated Mobility (AM) refers to the increasing integration of information and communication technologies not only into the vehicle sector itself, but into all areas of transport and mobility – including infrastructure and the management of mobility-related processes. This shift brings with it significant potential: enhanced road safety, increased efficiency, and reduced CO₂ emissions.

In order to shape the development of automated mobility – along with the resulting mobility services and usage patterns – in a forward-looking and sustainable way, it is essential to engage children and young people with this complex and multifaceted topic today. They are not only the future users of automated mobility but also tomorrow’s decision-makers.

The AM4Kids Regional Talent Project

Planning and development activities should never take place without involving the future target group. For this reason, the Talente Regional project AM4Kids works collaboratively – as in real-world practice – to develop future scenarios. By connecting participants with role models who share their daily experiences as people with disabilities, the project integrates diverse user perspectives. In this process, children and young people reflect on their own mobility habits, explore the future potential of automated mobility based on appropriate knowledge transfer, learn about the needs of other groups, and develop their own forward-looking scenarios.
Focusing specifically on automated mobility, the aim is to understand how automation and digitalization may support – but also potentially limit – the mobility of people with physical disabilities in the future.

At the same time, the project seeks to introduce this young target group to the wide-ranging impacts of automated mobility across various disciplines – including urban and transport planning, vehicle engineering, landscape architecture, environmental engineering, and information technology. This approach fosters cognitive abilities such as networked and creative thinking, which are of increasing importance in the context of ongoing digitalization and automation.

Automated Mobility from the Perspective of Children and Young Adults: Yesterday—Today—Tomorrow Raising awareness and sensitizing children and young people to automated mobility and inclusion.
