The focus was on discussing strategies for efficiently, economically, and ecologically converting the existing real estate portfolio of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waisenversorgungsverein.org\/\">the Evangelical Orphans\u2019 Welfare Association<\/a>to renewable energy sources in line with European and Austrian climate goals. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an interactive workshop, <a href=\"https:\/\/machenergie.at\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">project partner MACH presented the <\/a>results of its analyses and building assessments to date, as well as strategies and new approaches for the transformation of existing buildings. The focus was on the <strong>\u201cMACH Value Score Assessment<\/strong>, <strong>\u201d<\/strong> an evaluation method that assesses buildings not only based on economic indicators but also considers them across multiple dimensions: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>social and user-related criteria<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>technical aspects<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ecological factors<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Future Readiness &amp; Regulation<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The application of this method clearly demonstrated that a purely economic assessment of renovation measures often falls short\u2014especially in the case of older buildings. The social impact and long-term sustainability, in particular, often prove to be decisive factors in making well-informed decisions. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Based on the results discussed, the next steps in the project for the coming weeks and months are now being prepared. This will also involve assessing the extent to which <strong>neighborhood-wide solutions<\/strong> represent a viable option, such as through shared energy infrastructure or coordinated renovation strategies across multiple buildings. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The second consortium meeting took place on October 22, 2025.
